Freelance System Engineer Network & Telecom

Hybrid, Brussels, start 5 January 6 month with extension possibility

Context

As a Network and Telecom Engineer, you will join the Run Infrastructure team.

You will be responsible for the operational management, reliability, optimisation, and security of our client's network and telecom infrastructure, supporting both on-premises and cloud environments.

You will collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to ensure seamless connectivity, high availability, and compliance, while contributing to modernisation, automation, and security initiatives.

Key Requirements

▪ 5+ years experience in network and telecom engineering

▪ Expertise in Cisco technologies (Switches, Routers, WiFi, ASA, ISE, Meraki SD-WAN, VLANs)

▪ Experience with LAN, WAN, DNS, DHCP, VPN protocols (Site-to-Site, AnyConnect)

▪ Proficiency in VoIP systems and unified communications (MS Teams, Webex, Polycom)

▪ Experience integrating multi-cloud network environments (Azure, AWS, Private Cloud)

▪ Knowledge of copper and optical fiber cabling standards

▪ Strong understanding of network security, vulnerability management, and risk mitigation

▪ Network monitoring and automation

▪ Implementing and integrating Azure network solutions in hybrid environments

Certification

• Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA) or higher
• ITIL Foundation
• Microsoft Certified: Azure Network Engineer Associate

Fluent in Dutch and/or French with professional proficiency in English
